INSTITUTE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides youth
and adult martial arts programming for a building stronger community.
Sparrow Institute was created upon the idea that there should be a place to train that provides quality martial arts and promotes the martial arts community. A place that would build upon the benefits of martial arts training and their application for daily life success.
The concept of community within the martial arts is important but all too often overlooked. The martial arts industry has become so focused on competition and making money that there is no community. Sparrow Institute seeks to break away from that by offering several martial arts from one location. The instructors believe all martial arts are just different paths toward personal development and success.
THE BUJINKAN - HOME OF MARTIAL ARTISTS
The martial arts are the main teaching tool used to assist students in learning about themselves and the way they interact with life. Learning the skills of a warrior provides the knowledge of principles, theories, strategies and concepts that apply in all parts of life. Martial arts has more to do with testing and pushing oneself than it is about fighting. True warriors understand the efforts needed to solve problems in order to truly serve their community.
"Mastery is a journey with no destination."
"It's the process that matters, not the product."
All curriculums are complete and independent. There are no "mixed" martial arts. Students may choose to cross train in multiple arts but its not required. The important benefits such as increased self-esteem and self-discipline are visible through focus on the principles of the martial arts, which have nothing to do with the number or size of the trophies they have won.
Sparrow Institute is fortunate to have curriculums in:
Moo Kwan Taekwondo
(Personal protection using a cane)
Combat and Weapons
